Kirkcaldy supermarket’s expansion plans to increase click & collect service

Asda in Kirkcaldy has unveiled plans to extend its store to provide more space for its click and collect service.

The retail giant has submitted a planning application to Fife Council to start the work.

It wants to move the existing click and collect service - currently located near the petrol station - into an extension to its building on Carberry Place.

The move is in response to a huge rise in demand for the service.

Supporting documents lodged with the application show Asda UK ‘s click and collect business has quadrupled in the past six months, underlining the need to expand.

The application also seeks permission to amend the car park lay out.

The company stated: “We are seeking to improvement the facilities to respond to the recent rise in the requirements for this type of shopping.”

Councillors and officers will consider the application from the store in due course.
