Kingdom Boxing Club: Faris Tanahill wins despite opponent's weight fail ‘distraction’
Tanahill was fighting against Broxburn Boxing Club’s Cameron Howard at the Area Championships in The Civic Centre, Tullibody.
The build-up to the fight was unusual as Howard weighed in 0.8kg over the 65kg weight limit, meaning that even if the Broxburn scrapper had ‘beaten’ Tanahill, he would not have received the title.

Both boxers will face each other again this weekend in the final of the Boxing Scotland National Development Championships at Ravenscraig Sports Facility in Motherwell.
A member of Tanahill’s camp told the Fife Free Press that they fully expect Howard to ‘make the weight’ on this occasion as they reckon that he’ll be desperate to try and avenge last weekend’s loss.
Another Kingdom Boxing Club star who is also fighting this weekend at the National Championships is elite light middleweight ace Daryl Gray, who is entered in one of the hardest fought categories.
