There are a number of events and activities happening across the Kingdom that will help to keep the family busy. Here we’ve listed just some of the things happening locally over the Easter holidays to help give you some ideas.
9. Easter Grotto at the Scottish Deer Centre.
The Easter Bunny is back at the Scottish Deer Centre from Friday, March 29 to Monday, April 1. No booking required, just show up on the day. Meet the Easter Bunny in the burrow and receive a chocolate egg and hunt for eggs around the park for a special prize. Entry to the grotto is fixed at £7.50 per child. Photo: no
10. The Big Spring Bash, St Andrews
The Big Spring Bash, a celebration of spring, featuring hands-on activities, live music and local food vendors returns to St Andrews Botanic Gardens on Saturday, April 6. The event runs from 10am to 4pm. Take part in exciting nature and wildlife activities for all ages - including pond dipping, seed planting and wildlife walks. Plus explore the Garden and celebrate the arrival of spring.This year entry is DAISY (Donate As It Suits You) with ticket options £3, £6 or £12. Photo: John Devlin
11. Bee and Butterfly Origami
Calling all creative parent-and-child duos for an eco-conscious, origami, adventure. Join origami instructor Jess Leech for a unique class where you’ll give new life to waste paper by folding amazing butterfly and bee bookmarks. Ticket admits one adult and child. Under 8s must be accompanies by an adult. Sessions will run at Kirkcaldy Galleries on March 29; Rothes Halls on April 4; Dalgety Bay Library on April 5 and Cupar Library on April 12. Times vary. 12. Play Ranger Sessions
Fife Play Resource is holding free outdoor play sessions for children over the Easter holidays. Activities can include den building, arts and crafts, sports and games. No booking required. The team will be at Warout Community Outdoor Learning Space in Glenrothes on April 8 from 2pm to 3.30pm. They will be at the grass area next to the park in Valley Gardens, Kirkcaldy on April 10 from 2pm to 3.30pm. Children can arrive and leave at any time.
